Product Background 

As China's industrial manufacturing sector continues to advance under the "Made in China 2025" strategy, a growing number of industrial products featuring thick walls and long focal distances require urgent radiographic inspection of their butt welds. Traditional X-ray machines are no longer capable of meeting these specific inspection demands.
It was against this backdrop that the RD-360LG was developed — embodying Huiwei's core philosophy of creating products with international competitiveness. Representing the culmination of 30 years of accumulated technical expertise, the RD-360LG successfully realizes a 360kV X-ray machine capable of continuous-exposure operation, marking a significant breakthrough in domestic high-energy NDT technology.

1️⃣ Industry-Leading Penetration Performance

Up to 80mm in Q235 steel — setting a new benchmark for portable X-ray flaw detectors in China. This ultra-high penetration capability enables inspection of the thickest wall components and longest focal distance applications that were previously only possible with radioactive sources.

2️⃣ 30-Minute Continuous Exposure

3:1 work-rest cycle with maximum single exposure duration of 30 minutes — a revolutionary improvement in operational efficiency. Extended exposure times allow for higher quality radiographs on thick sections, reducing retake rates and improving inspection throughput.

3️⃣ Viable Alternative to Iridium-192 (Ir-192)

The RD-360LG serves as a practical alternative to certain applications utilizing Iridium-192 radioactive sources, thereby resolving the logistical and administrative issues inherent in the handling and management of such radioactive materials. This enables NDT agencies to:
  • ✅ Reduce costs — eliminate radioactive source licensing, storage, and transportation expenses
  • ✅ Enhance efficiency — no source transportation delays or regulatory paperwork
