The JF100 Personal Radiation Sounder is a wearable personal monitor designed to measure the intensity of X-ray and gamma-ray radiation fields. It is used for radiation monitoring of workers in fields such as isotope applications, gamma irradiation, X-ray and gamma-ray nondestructive testing, X-ray diagnostics, accelerators, and cobalt source therapy. Due to its high sensitivity, the instrument is also responsive to ambient background radiation. It uses sound and flash frequency to indicate the radiation level in the area where a person is located. Due to its low power consumption, compact size, and low price, the instrument has been widely used. The instrument has passed ministerial-level technical appraisal.
