PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
RT NDT, or Radiographic Testing NDT, is a non-destructive testing method that uses X-rays or gamma rays to inspect the internal structure and integrity of materials and components without causing damage. This technique utilizes short-wavelength electromagnetic radiation to penetrate objects, creating images on film or digital detectors that reveal internal flaws like cracks, porosity, or inclusions. RT is widely used for weld inspection, pressure vessel integrity checks, and overall quality control in various manufacturing industries.
How it works:
Radiation Source:
X-rays or gamma rays are directed through the material being tested.
Absorption:
The radiation's intensity is reduced as it passes through the object, with thicker or denser areas absorbing more energy than thinner or less dense sections.
Imaging:
The radiation that passes through the material then exposes a radiographic film or hits a digital detector, creating an image that shows these differences in absorption.
Interpretation:
The developed film or digital image shows dark areas where radiation passed through more easily (thin sections) and lighter areas where less radiation passed (thick sections). Discontinuities or flaws within the material appear as dark outlines or lighter areas on the final image, allowing for interpretation
